Figures 2A and 2B: Antiangiogenic activity demonstrated with the CAM assay. Sterile discs were implanted on the eighth day of development of chick embryo and instilled on the tenth day. The filters were removed and photographed after 48 hrs for evaluation.
2A: control disc was instilled with 10 µl of PBS; the capillary growth is visible.

2B: instilled disc with 10 µl of betamethasone [0.08 µg/ml] in minimum antiangiogenic active concentration (ßmet-MAAC), the angiogenesis was minor in all of the eggs tested. The betamethasone induced a significant change in the number of blood vessels, causing a slight reduction in vessels density. 6X. Broken line depicts the level of the histological section of the CAM.
