Scope and policy

It publishes original and unpublished articles both, in Spanish and English in all the relevant topics related to construction engineering and management, like: construction materials, construction methods, technologies and processes, construction management, resources management, construction entrepreneurship, sustainable construction rehabilitation of materials and structures and other interesting topics. The journal includes articles that report research reports as well as practice applications and case studies. The opinions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the points of view of the Department of Construction Engineering and Management or the Editor. We invite researchers, academic personnel and professionals interested in sharing their knowledge to contribute with papers to be published in the journal or to send discussions about previously published articles. The instructions for preparation and submission of articles can be found on the inside back cover of each issue.

Peer review: Every article submitted for publication will be reviewed by an internacional comité of referees.

The Editor sends an acknowledgement letter to the author every timea new article is submitted for publication.
The coordinator checks that the article meets the standards for being evaluated. If the article meets the standards, it is reviewed by the Editor. Otherwise, the observations are informed to the author.
The Editor checks that the article is within the interests and objectives of the Journal. If the article is within the Journal interests, it is sent along with reviewing directions and forms to five reviewers (peer review), who know neither the author’s name nor his (her) institution. Otherwise, the author is informed of the decision.
The Editor reviews the evaluation and recommendations of the reviewers (at least, three reviews are required to proceed), and decides, whether the article is “Accepted with no observations”, “Accepted with observations”, or “Rejected”. Either case, the author is informed of the decision and the reviewers’ comments, whose names remain undisclousured, are sent to the author.
If the article was “Accepted with observations”, the author is required to address the reviewers’ comments and suggestions in a second version of the article. Once the new version is received, it is evaluated along with the original reviewers’ comments by the Editor and the international Editorial Board which decide on the final approval of the article.
The author is informed of the final approval and it is required to sign the copyright transfer form.
A galley proof is prepared and sent to the author for approval once the copyright transfer form is received.
The article goes to printing once the galley proof is approved.
