Resumen

VILLEGAS M., Beltrán. El fin del mundo en el Nuevo Testamento. Teol. vida [online]. 2000, vol.41, n.1, pp.5-15. ISSN 0049-3449.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0049-34492000000100002.

The death and resurrection of Jesus provide the hermeneutic clues to understand the eschatology of the New Testament, which is expressed in mythic-apocalyptic categories. The eschatological moment comes to full realisation -regardless of its "anticipations" in history- in the Resurrected, showing thus that the humanity will achieve its plenitude by means of a corporal resurrection, which entail the end of its historical age, not necessarily linked to likely physical phenomena. That "end" of the historic humanity is in fact realised by the individual death of each human being. In the New Testament there is no clear command to believe in the existence of just one unique moment in the course of time, for the "end" of the humanity "matching" its coming into the eschatological existence, which is his transcendent aim.
