Resumen

PARRA C., Fredy. Esperanza cristiana y futuro histórico: (pensamiento escatológico en la revista Teología y Vida desde el Concilio Vaticano II). Teol. vida [online]. 2000, vol.41, n.3-4, pp.562-590. ISSN 0049-3449.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0049-34492000000300011.

The article shows the reception of several authors of the guidelines provided by the Vatican Council II on the issue of Christian hope and historic future. The corpus of articles to be analysed was collected and ten the most common eschatological contents were set around the following topics: the eschatological hope according to the Council; the challenge of the interpretation of the times signs historicity and the centrality of the future; the roots of hope; the consummations of the creation, the present in the horizon of the future: immanence and transcendence; hope and freedom; hope and criticism to the progress. Finally the author offers three critical and prospective considerations: 1) He stresses the need of the articulation between the individual hope and the historic-community hope; 2) amidst the growing presence of post-modernism, he highlights the importance of undertaking fully the human temporality; and 3) he highlights the need to go deeper into the reflection of the universal and concrete character of the Christian hope.
