Resumen

RAMOS-LISSON, Domingo. En torno a la exégesis de San Gregorio Magno sobre el "Cantar de los Cantares". Teol. vida [online]. 2001, vol.42, n.3, pp.241-265. ISSN 0049-3449.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0049-34492001000300001.

A brief introduction leads the reader into the extraordinary person of the Pope Leo the Great and the work. Expositio in Canticum Canticorum. In the first place, the origin and authenticity of this work are discussed. Then, the author makes a characterisation of the exegetic methodology used by Gregory, with particular emphasis on the dynamism of the Sacred Scripture, as a distinctive feature of the Gregorian hermeneutics. In the Exposition of the Song of Songs, the author shows the dependence and exegetic borrowings from earlier authors -especially Origens and Augustin, and Aponius to a lesser extent. This is followed by a commented reading of the Gregorian Expositio exhibiting the most relevant aspects of its interpretative reflection, such as the relation established between anthropology and the Word of God; the ways leading back to God; and the value of the allegory as spiritual intelligence. The article finishes with a conclusive summary of such issues.
