RIOS-ESCUDERO, A.; COSTAMAGNA, J. e VILLAGRAN, M.. SÍNTESIS Y CARACTERIZACIÓN DE NUEVOS COMPLEJOS DE Ni(II) CON BASES DE SCHIFF DERIVADAS DE n-OCTILAMINA, n-DODECILAMINA Y n-OCTADECILAMINA. Bol. Soc. Chil. Quím. [online]. 2000, vol.45, n.4, pp.593-599. ISSN 0366-1644. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0366-16442000000400011.
Synthesis and characterization by FT-IR, 1H-RMN, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and cyclic voltametry of new Bis[N-n-alkyl-2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine]Ni(II) (n-alkyl = n-octyl, n-dodecyl, and octadecyl) complexes are shown in the present work. FT-IR spectra show displacement of the C=N stretching at ca. 1620 cm-1, Ni-N stretching appears at ca. 430 cm-1, and Ni-O stretching at ca. 290 cm-1. Solid phase and solution magnetic susceptibilities indicate diamagnetic species. Electrocatalytic reduction processes show a lowering of the potential for CO2 reduction to ca. -0.85 V vs Ag/AgCl.
