Abstract

The effect of nickel/alumina catalyst preparation methods on its microstructure and catalytic activity for the reforming reaction of methane with carbon dioxide were systematically studied. Two series of three catalyst each one were prepared. For each series :a) two catalysts were prepared by adding the metal solution precursor in two different steps during the support preparation and b ) the third one by impregnation of that metal solution precursor on the alumina support previously prepared. The catalyst and/or catalysts precursors were characterized by x-ray diffraction (DRX), differential thermoanalysis (DTA/TG), nitrogen adsorption technique, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and EDAX, and CO-chemisorption. Relations between catalysts preparation methods and CO2 reforming catalytic activity were established
