TAPIA P, Cecilia  y  QUIROGA G, Teresa. Secretory IgA in saliva of healthy children. Rev. chil. pediatr. [online]. 1998, vol.69, n.2, pp.72-76. ISSN 0370-4106.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0370-41061998000200006.

Objetive: to describe secretory IgA Is'gA) and albumin concentrations and the effect of slgA/albumin ratio Calculation on slgA values distribution. Material and methods: albumin an slgA measurements were done in saliva! specimens or 60 healthy 0 to 9 years old children and are hereby described. Results: secretory IgA did not show a normal distribution curve, and that distribution was not normalized by calculating salival slgA/albumin ratio. Recorded sicA values ragged from 40.2 to 788.0 mg/L (2.5 and 97.5 percentiles] and averaged 239,03 mg/L. Conclusion: no statistical differences were found in slgA concentration among different age groups. Up to date, the clinical use of the slgA/alburnin ratio has not been Cleary defined and therefore, more studies are needed to evaluate il.
