Seventy per cent of them were made with diagnostic purposes and 23% as therapeutic procedure. Principal clinical indications were athelectasias, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL);, stridor and evaLuation of chronic tracheotomy. Twenty two of the diagnostic procedures were indicatec in congenital disease of the upper airway, most of then associated to strict, berg larinccma'acia the most frequent (50%). BAL was usefull  for' bactenclogic diagnosis, hemosiderosis and chronic aspiration. Among patients with adquired diseases of the upper airway, bronchoscopie lead to a right diagnosis if 90% or thern, and allowed to make recommendations for further work up. When used as c therapeutic procedure, bronchoscope showed good results in resolving athelecasias (63%), foreing body aspiration, sealing bronchopleural fistulas, hard intubation and resection of subgratia granuama. Flexible brorcnosccpie is a safe and versatile procecure with high clinical value and few complications.
