Resumen

DE LA FUENTE LABBE, Loreto  y  POVEDA VIERA, Juan Carlos. Music and childhood in Chile. Discourses and aesthetics in the music of Pin Pon, Mazapán, Cachureos and 31 minutos. Rev. music. chil. [online]. 2018, vol.72, n.230, pp.59-78. ISSN 0716-2790.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0716-27902018000200059.

Popular music builds and disseminates ideas about social groups and individuals. In the case of children, the songs performed on television programs such as Pin Pon (1965-1974, 1991-1992); Masamigos/Mazapán (1983-1985); Cachureos (1983-2008) or 31 minutos (2003-2005, 2014); which have been massively disseminated through public television, are cases which, in our opinion, are representative to graph, from the perspective of music, an overview of these concepts.

Thus, assuming that children's music in Chile has not been widely addressed as a musicological object of study, and taking into account the concepts and tools delivered by both Musicology and Social Sciences, this text is constituted as an exploratory and primary sketch which is configured around the following questions: What are the stories of childhood that builds children's music broadcast through TV shows? What references and musical resources are used in the construction of these stories? What connections exist between those accounts identified in the children's music with the cultural changes experienced by children in Chile?

Palabras clave : Children's music; childhood studies; Pin Pon; Mazapán; Cachureos; 31 minutos.
