Abstract

FOLCHI, Mauricio; BLANCO-WELLS, Gustavo  and  MEIER, Stefan. Definiciones tecno-políticas en la configuración de la matriz energética chilena durante el siglo xx. Historia (Santiago) [online]. 2019, vol.52, n.2, pp.373-408. ISSN 0717-7194.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-71942019000200373.

The article examines the historical configuration of the Chilean energy matrix throughout the twentieth century and understands it as the result of the relative expansion and decline of three interdependent socio-technical regimes: coal, petroleum and electricity. For each of these regimes the article studies the techno-political definitions that guided its development. These definitions were represented as “problems” by the elites of an ideological, social or economic nature, which should be resolved by the State and the private sector.

Keywords : Chile; Twentieth Century; Energy; Energy Matrix; Socio-technical Regime; Techno-politics; Coal; Petroleum; Hydroelectricity.
