BARRUETO C, Luis; YANEZ F, Margarita; GALVEZ V, Verónica  y  MALLOL V, Javier. Quality of life in mothers of infants with recurrent wheezing . Rev. chil. enferm. respir. [online]. 2004, vol.20, n.2, pp.71-75. ISSN 0717-7348.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-73482004000200002.

Little information is available on quality of life in mothers of infants with recurrent wheezing. Two groups were assessed: one controlled by specialists in Pediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) and other controlled by general medical doctors in Primary Health (PH). 200 mothers answered Juniper's PACQLQ questionnaire. Simultaneously 42 mothers of healthy infants also completed this questionnaire. Mean scores ± SD were 4.7 ± 1.7 and 3.9 ± 1.7 on activity domain; 4.7 ± 1.4 and 3.8 ± 1.2 on emotional domain and 4.6 ± 1.4 and 3.9 ± 1.2 in total score, for PRM and PH respectively. Significant differences (p < 0.05) in favor of PRM group were found. Mothers of infants with recurrent wheezing controlled by specialists have less impairment in their quality of life when compared with mothers controlled by general doctors
