BRIONES VALENTIN, Viviana. AGUA, TERRITORIO Y MALOSTRATOS: ESPACIOS DE CONFLICTO ENTRE AYLLU Y PRINCIPALES. TACNA SIGLO XVIII. Chungará (Arica) [online]. 1999, vol.31, n.2, pp.293-305. ISSN 0717-7356.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0717-73561999000100004.

In the south of colonial Andes, in the eighteen century, Tacna was a complex colonial ethnic reality. Our principal idea in this article is to present the conflict between Indian community and their respective ethnic authorities, emphasizing our study in the community-"principal" relationship. The community perception shows us power and privilege abuses, tradition and community patrimony transgression, having like a background micro-power articulation where union between ethnic and Spanish authorities tried to have the control of productive pillars, having the possibility to became richer, forgetting tradition and ayllus rights

Palabras clave : Tacna; ayllu; chiefdom; conflict; communal morality; reciprocity; XVIIIth century.
