The relationship between embryonic heart rate (first trimester) and spontaneous abortions is described. The embryonic heart rate is significantly lower in abortions which occur between six ar seven weeks of pregnancy. The risk increase 19 times when the heart rate is below 90 per minute and 7 times when the heartbeats per minute are between 90 and 100.
