Objective.The objective of this study is to evaluate neurocognitive functioning in a group of patients with personality disorder. Method. Ten patients with a personality disorder according The International Personality Disorder Examination (IPDE), without axis I DSM IV pathology and with no medication were evaluated through Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS) and Rey Osterrieth complex figure. Results. Abnormalities were found affecting especially memorization of complex material from Rey-Osterrieth figure and memorization of stories and control tasks from W.M.S. Conclusion. These findings may suggest disfunction of complex visual memory and hearing memory which may contribute to existing difficulties in psychotherapies of patients with a personality disorder.
