Resumen

Cross-sectional descriptive and correlation research, whose general objective was to find out about the perception of the violence phenomena in a primary health care center, in a district of the VIII Region in Chile, from the perspective of different categories of health employees. The universe were 62 workers. Data were collected through the questionnaire of Paravic et al., that was worked previously with diverse focal groups. It collects biosociographics datas and others relates to work violence. Some of the results were: most of the workers perceived violence, as much toward his person, as peers and clients or patients. The type of violence is primarily psychological and they identify as theirs main aggressors, the patient, theirs relatives and the nurse. This violence mainly shows up in the morning schedule at the clinics and halls. As coping mechanism, the health workers use verbal defense, avoidance or passive acceptance. A third of the workers declares to have previous experiences of mistreat in their childhood.
