In this work, a model for the steady state simulation of heat recovery networks in single phase is developed. The basic model of the thermal effectiveness and its relation to the Number of Heat Transfer Units are used for the simulation of the operation of heat exchangers. The application of the model is demonstrated for a study case from the literature where network temperatures are calculated after perturbation to the flow rate and to the temperature are introduced into the system. It is concluded that the steady state simulation developed in this work gives reliable results.
