Abstract
CARDONA, S. and JORDI, L.. Synthesis of Noncircular Gears using Angular Displacement Laws Defined by Bézier Curves. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2005, vol.16, n.4, pp.27-32. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642005000400005.
This paper presents a method of defining and analytically studying the relation between rotated angles of noncircular gear wheels with a variable transmission ratio. The definition is made by polynomial functions from non parametric Bézier curves. In some computations, these functions must be defined for one cycle only and thereafter, must be repeated in a periodic form. Pitch curves and curvature radii are obtained from the relation between angles rotated by the wheels. This permits a first analysis of the feasibility of manufacturing the gear wheels. A procedure is then defined for situating the teeth, obtained by a generation process, and an application is presented using Mathematica© software.
