MARTINEZ-CASTILLO, J; DIAZ-SANCHEZ, A y TORRES-JACOME, A. BiCMOS Transimpedance Amplifier for Communication Systems at High Frequencies. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2005, vol.16, n.6, pp.63-68. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642005000600010.
A BJT transimpedance preamplifier suitable for fiber optics applications is presented. The proposed topology is based on a common-base structure, applying negative feedback in order to increase the bandwidth of the circuit. A bandwidth of 5.42 GHz is reached using the topology, also achieving an important reduction in noise level. Intermodulation products of 50 dB below the carrier signal were obtained. Simulations were performed in the HSPICE program using a 0.8 mm AMS BiCMOS process. The structure of the transimpedance amplifier presented showed better performance, as well as increasing the band width, minimizing the noise level, and improving the yield in the dynamic interval.
