The objective of this research was to investigate the use of an enzymatic pretreatment of soybean collets for solvent extraction of the oil. The effect of multienzymatic pretreatment on extraction yield was investigated. Response Surface Methodology was applied to evaluate the oil yield as a function of pH, time, and temperature of the enzymatic hydrolysis by employing multiple regression techniques. The adequacy of a second-order model with interaction terms was tested and optimal enzymatic hydrolysis conditions for maximum oil yield were calculated. The optimal conditions calculated were: temperature 43.5 ºC, pH 5.4 and incubation period 5.8 h. Under these conditions, the maximum yield of oil as predicted by the function was 26.64% on a dry weight basis.
