Abstract
CABALLERO, Francisco V and VICENTE, Luis. Influence of Critical Coverage in phase Reconstruction HEX - 1x1 of the Reaction NO + H2 over Pt(100). Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2006, vol.17, n.3, pp.87-94. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642006000300013.
A study was made of the oscillatory behavior of adsorbed species generated by the reaction NO + H2 over Pt(100). A mathematical model was used to reproduce the oscillatory behavior experimentally observed. In this study the phase transition over the Pt surface, from hex to 1x1, is considered as the driving force for oscillatory behavior. This behavior was obtained by varying the partial pressures of NO and H2 at 460 K. Also analyzed were the sensitivity to the values of critical coverage by adsorbed species and the results are compared to the case where the surface phase transition is not considered, which is the case at lower temperatures.
