Abstract

A portable testing device has been design for the evaluation, testing and diagnosis of the headstock condition in high speed machines tool. The device is based the standards that define the limits for the different parameters that intervene during the process.  At the end of a test, the device is able to show the operator the RMS vibration signal and to evaluate this signal under the standards ISO 1940/1 and ISO 10816-3. The testing device is in consequence, of extreme interest for customers and for machine tool manufacturers. The device allows to obtain information related to the headstock condition, can show the wear-out curve of the headstock and facilitates obtaining of historical data.
