A global programming model, that serves as an aid mechanism to estimate and minimize costs associated to industrial accidents and their prevention, has been developed. Because the used model is based on global programming and integer programming, a brief presentation of both operation research techniques is done. The methodology follows the classical scientific approach applied to operations research. As a result not only a global programming model that helps in controlling industrial accidents and preventing them is built, but also an application of the model is presented through a hypothetical case. This allows concluding that the method is an adequate means for analyzing this type of problem in a simple and fast way.
