FLORES-YANEZ, Consuelo; MARTINEZ-JUAREZ, Javier; PALMA-GUZMAN, Mario y YANEZ-SANTOS, Jorge. Analysis of Dental Etching Using the Metallographic Microscope and AnalySIS Software. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2009, vol.20, n.2, pp.13-18. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642009000200003.
It is shown that the metallographic microscope and the software AnalySIS represent appropriate techniques for the analysis of dental structures. The vestibular surface of 25 human permanent teeth, free of caries and recently extracted was observed under microscope (100X) and was processed with the software AnalySIS. The diameter of randomly selected pores was determined and concentrations of phosphoric acids were evaluated, varying the exposure time. The results show that concentrations of acid phosphoric 50% produce the biggest pores with statistically significant differences (ρ ≤ 0.05). The treatments with exposure time of 30 and 60 seconds showed greater pores without statistical differences. It is concluded that the metallographic microscope and the software AnalySIS represent an important tool for the analysis of dental tissue etching.
