Abstract

The evaluation of the heat transfer coefficient for its use in industrial operations is described. A simple mathematical model to determine the heat transfer convective coefficient using the DCAL software (Determination of Heat Transfer Coefficient during a Heating). To valídate the model experimental data of samples processed by thermal treatment using different temperatures and process time were used. The experimental data was automatically processed by the software, to genérate graphs and to determine an optimum heat transfer coefficient. The main conclusión was that the methodology described is useful to the compute of convective coefficient when there is no inside heat transfer resistance.
