Abstract
GALLEGO-GOMEZ, Juan D; CANO-QUINTERO, Juan B and MUNOZ-GALEANO, Nicolas. Deduction of Power Losses by Conduction in Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation Inverters, SPWM. Inf. tecnol. [online]. 2015, vol.26, n.3, pp.111-122. ISSN 0718-0764. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-07642015000300015.
This paper presents the mathematical derivation of the power losses by conduction in single phase H-bridge inverters controlled by Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM). The development of the mathematical equations for voltage and current through the semiconductor in its conducting state is presented and the power dissipation is calculated. The power loss equations found depend on the characteristics of the modulation used and on the parameters of the load. Through simulations and experimental validation, curves showing the validity of the equations and their approaches in accordance with the conditions of the test were obtained.
