The aim of this paper is the presentation of the relationship between organizational culture and competencies for knowledge management of Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) in Colombia. The study initiates with the application of an evaluation model of knowledge management to 321 companies. For the study, analysis and synthesis methods were employed and a type of exploratory and correlational descriptive study was used. It is concluded that culture moderates positively and significantly competencies for knowledge management. This study is expected to contribute to the development of small and medium enterprises in the country to formulate actions to enhance their growth.
