Resumen

MOYANO BARAHONA, CRISTINA  y  RIVERA ARAVENA, CARLA. Disputing the political. The Left and the Mass Policy Press in Chile, 1950 1989. Universum [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.1, pp.340-366. ISSN 0718-2376.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-23762020000100340.

The following article analyzes the journalistic production of the left between 1950 and 1989, to give an account of the processes of transformation of political practices that affect public opinion. From 1950 until 1973, left-wing parties produced newspapers and magazines in an attempt to dispute the political domain using different journalistic strategies. From 1977, the political left regained different journalistic strategies that had been used prior to 1973, changing formats and contents in their publications, expressing their own tensions and reformulations to delineate the domain of the political, during a period where the re-legitimation of politics was key to defining Chile's future democracy.
