Heterotopic liver tissue (hepatic choristoma) is an uncommon condition frequently identified during the surgical exploration of the abdominal cavity for other causes. We report a 47-years-old man operated on for symptomatic cholelithiasis. At laparoscopy we found a small hepatic nodule over the serosal surface of the gallbladder. The pathological report informed chronic changes of the gallbladder wall with mild diffuse mucosal and muscularis mucosae lymphocytic infiltrates, without inflammatory changes or infiltration from other tissues. The hepatic nodule only infiltrated the serosa and measured 12x8x6 mm. Its lobulillar architecture was preserved and there was only mild diffuse hyperemia. Even though the choristoma of our patient constitutes an incidental finding, we believe that it is important to highlight the pathological implications of this tissue and the malignant potential associated
