The objective of this article is to analyze the social and personal factors that influence the choice, study time and future labor projections of women in different engineering careers. Their perception, in a faculty where the percentage of women is very low compare to men is analyzed. The methodology corresponds to a non-experimental research, applying a survey with close multiple-choice questions of Linkert type to female students of nine engineering careers from the University Autónoma of Nuevo León, in Mexico. The analysis of the results of the applied survey shows similarities with recent research regarding the factors that influence the selection of these careers, as well as the perception of some degree of rejection and differences with men. The uncertainty about the future employment of the participants in the study was also mentioned.
