Abstract

COLMENERO, María J.; MOLINA, María D.  and  RODRIGUEZ, Javier. University students’ perceptions on the undergraduate dissertation (undergraduate thesis). Form. Univ. [online]. 2020, vol.13, n.6, pp.283-290. ISSN 0718-5006.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-50062020000600283.

This research study aims to analyze student perceptions about the final degree project (FDP). The European Higher Education Area has generated a series of modifications in the university system, one being FDP’s preparation and defense. The methodology is descriptive and uses an ad hoc questionnaire for data collection. An incidental non-probabilistic sampling type method was applied to select 397 students from the early childhood and primary education degrees. The results obtained demonstrate that the selected university students generally have a positive perception, but it is necessary to improve factors that affect the teaching-learning process. There were significant differences in the type of center and in the FDP’s applicability dimension according to age. It is concluded that tutoring is the most valued factor and that the worst valued factor is the teaching-and-learning process.

Keywords : final degree project; early childhood; primary education; university; alumni.
