Abstract

RISSO FERRAND, Martin. The right to self-image and the expectation of respect for privacy. Estudios constitucionales [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.1, pp.119-150. ISSN 0718-5200.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-52002019000100119.

In view of the new impacts that in privacy in general, and especially in the right to self-image, have caused advances or technological changes, it is sought to reexamine the issue based on the most important judgments of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights. In the work some nuances are detected between the jurisprudence of these Courts and finally it seeks to make a kind of critical synthesis of the most relevant criteria for the purpose of the weighting between the right to self- image and other rights.

Keywords : Privacy; Right to privacy; Right to self-image; Freedom of speech; Inter-American Court of Human Rights; European Court of Human Rights.
