RODRIGUEZ FERNANDEZ, Gabriela. Community? Communitary mediation, ephimeral dwelling and cultural diversity. Polis [online]. 2008, vol.7, n.20, pp.87-103. ISSN 0718-6568. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-65682008000100006.
The concept of community, coined in the 19th century by Ferdinand Tónnies, continues constituting the substratum of the thought of daily life, but also of theoretical and political formulations. Especially, it is behind the idea of community mediation, with which we propose ourselves new utopias of autonomous community management of the conflicts. Nevertheless, the social frame in which the concept was created has changed deeply, especially since the last 40 years along with the so called "globalization". The article explores these changes, and suggests where new interpretations can be opened, showing at the same time how these will affect community mediation.
