BRAVO, Nazareno. Social Movements and collective action as bases of Latin American philosophy. Polis [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.27, pp.45-59. ISSN 0718-6568.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-65682010000300003.

The proposal of philosopher Arturo Roig (Mendoza, Argentina 1922-) on the existence of a morality of protest in Latin American philosophy, has aspects considered significan for sociological analysis. The author refers to a moral tradition developed in Latin America since the beginnings of its history, and in close relation with liberation movements and social mobilizations carried out by subordinated sectors. What is pursued here is to analyse a series of contemporary collective phenomena emerging in Argentina, as the means to understand the processes that underly the conformation of a Latin American thought that seeks to crack oppressive totalities.

Palabras clave : Latin American philosophy; Collective action; Mobilization; Morality of protest.
