Resumen

MACIEL-LIMA, Sandra Mara  y  DE SOUZA-LIMA, José Edmilson. The postmodern subject in contemporary cultural debate. Polis [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.27, pp.199-217. ISSN 0718-6568.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-65682010000300009.

The purpose of this article is to identify some constituent elements of the postmodern subject rn trying to answer the following: who is this postmodern subject? For that, diverse theoretical matrices are revised rn search for constituent elements of this new subject. By means of an analytical frame, one concludes that this subject seems to be related to a complex notion of progress; that emerges of social interaction; incorporates recognized social values and keeps updated on the standards of behavior necessary to be recognized by "others". This kind of border, therefore, emerges in a context that privileges the autonomy of speech, in which new cultural frames emerge based on an epistemology of the otherness, promoting a radicalization of subjectivity.

Palabras clave : modernity; postmodernity; subjectivity; postmodern subject; cultural studies.
