MAC-CLURE, Oscar; BAROZET, Emmanuelle y MOYA, Cristóbal. Judgments of middle classes to the economic elite: A criticism of inequalities in Chile?. Polis [online]. 2015, vol.14, n.41, pp.435-460. ISSN 0718-6568. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-65682015000200026.
This article presents the results of a research on chilean middle class and its perception of the socioeconomic elite. A renewed interest on studying middle class has emerged due to its rapid growth and the sociopolitical challenges that this raises. At the same time, in regards to the socioeconomic elite -one of the more salient expressions of inequalities- the question is brought up as to what extent a perception of injustice, discontent or critique towards the elite emerges. If it does happen and how it does happen from the point of view of those who belong to the middle class, is the object of analysis in this text. Scarcely studied feelings and perceptions that arise in situations of social interaction, are here reviewed, by using a methodology based on games. The paper analyzes whether the judgments of people refer to distributive justice or procedural fairness.
