Resumen
TRPIN, Verónica y RODRIGUEZ, María Daniela. Labor markets and chilean-born workers mobility in northern Patagonia. Polis [online]. 2015, vol.14, n.41, pp.517-537. ISSN 0718-6568. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-65682015000200030.
The article presents an interdisciplinary approach on labor migration in areas of Patagonia with chilean presence of migrants. At first, the paper addresses recent trends in migration studies and its relation to the configuration of labor markets. Dynamics and transformations of fruit markets work, tourism, and construction in the provinces of Neuquén and Río Black are then described. The presence of chileans has been contingent on the timing of fruit harvest in the case of fruit growing and the demands of tourism, and of weather conditions in tourist activities and the construction of bedding in the mountains. The differential relations involving migrants allow the observation of a territorial (re)configuration in recent decades that enabled to consolidate the expansion of production processes and activities in the studied areas.
