GOMEZ NUNEZ, Nicolás. Reciprocity and cooperation in Latin American economies. Polis [online]. 2016, vol.15, n.45, pp.63-85. ISSN 0718-6568. http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-65682016000300004.
The introduction of Buen Vivir in sociology extends the repertoire of categories with which the Latin American economy is investigated, and in this article we argue that the sumac kawsay is the antecedent of the popular and solidarity economy. To describe this hypothesis we took a case of the Aimara and another of the Achuar, then we describe cooperatives that in the late seventies inaugurated, the so-called popular development. In the arguments we will frequently use the notions of community and ecological system in order to observe how to attribute meaning, and we conclude by noting that the convergence between Buen Vivir and the solidarity economy is contained in the definition of work.
