Abstract

ALVEAR TELLEZ, Julio. Historical-Critical Study on the Right to Religious Freedom in Conciliar Statement "Dignitatis Humanae". Revista de Derecho de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso [online]. 2012, n.39, pp.639-700. ISSN 0718-6851.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4067/S0718-68512012000200023.

The right to religious freedom established in the Dignitatis humana statement of the Second Vatican Council was subject to a controversial preparation, herein analyzed based on a direct reading of the sources. The historical controversy had a significant consequence on the philosophical-juridical scope: the establishment of a new approach to the rhetoric of modern freedoms, which over time gave rise to different interpretations. This, however, has meant a heavy burden for the classic meaning of Christian public law.

Keywords : Right to religious freedom; Second Vatican Council; Dignitatis Humanae; Christian public law.
