This work documents and analyses Neighbourhood Justice Units. Likewise, two mechanisms that these Units used as model, the small claims court and the multi-door courthouses in the USA, are described. Then, some lessons based on the comparative analysis to contribute to the improvement of the neighbourhood justice units themselves or to the development of other initiatives aimed at making access to justice easier to ordinary people, specially to solve ordinary conflicts that currently do not have a proper reply proceeding are suggested.
