The aim of this paper is to identify the main problems affecting evidence law’s teaching, and propose a set of strategies to overcome them in an undergraduate course. The methodology to achieve these goals includes the analysis of some peculiarities of evidence law that distinguish it from other disciplines in which learning rules occupies a pivotal position. On the contrary, in evidence law rules play a minimalist role; learning basic disciplinary concepts and the strengthening of argumentative strategies are particularly relevant. Given this characteristic a list is made of what should be addressed in a specialized course and two experiences are presented that accentuate the differences with respect to other courses. The results obtained show that the main problems of evidence law’s teaching are “error in the focus” and “methodological impossibility”. Proposals are made about how both problems could be addressed within the undergraduate programme.
