AZUA RIOS, Ximena; SAAVEDRA CASTRO, Pamela y LILLO MUNOZ, Daniela. Naturalized Social Injustice: Evaluation of Gender Bias in Schools Based on the Observation of Teacher Evaluation Videos. Perspect. educ. [online]. 2019, vol.58, n.2, pp.69-97. ISSN 0718-9729. http://dx.doi.org/10.4151/07189729-vol.58-iss.2-art.916.
This article is part of the project “Elaboration of typologies on gender biases and stereotypes in the teaching practice, and development of material that guides the teaching practice in this respect”, requested by the Ministry of Education and UNDP in 2017. Analysis and results are presented, with the data obtained after the application of a characterization pattern of gender biases in teaching practice to videos of classes from teachers throughout the country in the context of teacher evaluation. Both the pattern used, and the analysis executed are based on the Azúa and Farías Model “Theoretical model that identifies sexism and gender discrimination in pedagogical interactions”. It is concluded that in the educational practice gender discrimination prevails towards girls, young people and sexual minorities, and these discriminations translate mainly into a cultural type of injustice.
