Abstract

CANTILLANA-BARANADOS, Raphael  and  PORTILLA-VASQUEZ, Isabel. On the path of ‘taxis teacher’: the effects of academic deprofessionalization in higher education. A qualitative approach from Chile. Cult.-hombre-soc. [online]. 2019, vol.29, n.1, pp.306-330. ISSN 0716-1557.  http://dx.doi.org/10.7770/0719-2789.2019.cuhso.01.a01.

The present production is aimed at describing and reflecting on the effects produced by academic deprofessionalization in the development of universities. This is done from the discourses of academics, managers and students as actors and active subjects of university contexts. The work corresponds to part of the results of a qualitative and inductive research whose information was collected through the application of the ethnographic method. The analysis was articulated from the problematization of the disconnected link between academics, their disciplinary field and institutions of higher education. The academic deprofessionalization, the distort of its context and the logics of institutionality, constitute the central topics of this work, which concludes that these phenomena produces negligence and dislocate the educational projects of higher education institutions.
