This article aims to question several matters related to the teaching of architecture, more specifically the teaching of architectural design from an interdisciplinary perspective. It investigates the relationship between teaching and research in universities, the relationship between architecture programs and other university degrees, and the pressures related to the training of architects for the market. Based on the answers to these questions, it attempts to present a few proposals for and ways of understanding the teaching and learning practices in architecture degree programs, in order to propose education that is capable of relating to the demands of contemporary times.
